How to Train Through a Slump (When Motivation Is Low or Life Gets Heavy)
Life’s not always perfect. Sometimes stress hits hard. Sometimes you just don’t feel like working out. And guess what? That’s normal.
But slumps don’t have to become setbacks.
Here’s how Christchurch women are learning to stay in motion — even when motivation disappears.
🧠 Step 1: Accept the Slump
It’s okay to feel off. You’re not failing — you’re human.
Beating yourself up doesn’t help. Grace + consistency > guilt + perfection.
🕯 Step 2: Lower the Bar (But Don’t Quit)
If you can’t give 100%, give 40%. Just don’t give 0%.
Some movement is always better than none — especially when it keeps your momentum alive.
Show up and just stretch
Do 2 rounds, not 9
Walk in and talk with a coach — you’ll probably stay for a session
💬 Step 3: Talk It Out
BoxHiit30 isn’t just a gym. It’s a community.
Let your coach or another member know you’re struggling. We’re here for that — and we’ve all been there.
🔁 Step 4: Reconnect to Your Why
Why did you start? Was it energy? Strength? Confidence?
Even writing it down can reignite the spark — and remind you that momentum beats motivation.
